The 20-year-old San Diego State student found dead Friday morning at a frat house had gone to a party the night before at the fraternity, according to the San Diego County medical examiner.
Barzeen Barzanji, a criminal justice major, had gone to the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity house with his cousin for a party Thursday night, according to the medical examiner. He was found dead the next morning.
The medical examiner says the cause of death has not yet been determined, pending toxicology tests.
But San Diego State officials, in contact with campus police and the medical examiner, said the investigation has not turned up any evidence of foul play.
Barzanji was found ”lying unresponsive in bed” at the Phi Kappa Theta house about 8:30 a.m. Friday by house residents, who called authorities. He was declared dead, without resuscitation attempts, according to the medical examiner.
Barzanji, an Iranian living in Santee, was president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
